Are you a painter with a passion for teaching others? Do you enjoy creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere for your students to learn in? If so, we would love for you to join our team as a Paint Night Teacher.

As a Paint Night Teacher, you will be responsible for leading guided and interactive painting classes in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We are looking for someone who has excellent painting skills, an outgoing and enthusiastic personality, and the ability to instruct and assist students of all skill levels.

Little painting experience but eager to learn and still want to be a part of the team? We’re hiring for an event assistant as well with the opportunity to move into teaching if desired!

Job Type: Part-time, Contract. 

Please note this is a gig-based position. This is a great side hustle that’s easy to balance with other part-time jobs, freelancing, or school! 

Work Location: 595 Burrard street, Off-site Paint in the Park locations (Trout Lake Park) & Central Park (Burnaby)

Requirements

  • Strong painting skills, with experience in a variety of painting styles and techniques

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students of all ages and backgrounds

  • A car and valid license, to drive to summer events and transport art supplies 

  • At least 2 weekdays availability between Tuesday and Friday. Willingness to work evenings and weekends, as Paint Night classes are typically held outside of regular business hours 

  • Reliable and responsible self-starter.

  • Outgoing, enthusiastic with high energy, knowing how to lead in front of a room of beginner students.  

  • Ability to work independently and manage your own time effectively

  • Reliable and punctual, with a professional and friendly demeanor

  • Previous experience teaching art or leading instructional classes is an asset, but not required

  • Customer service experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Host both public and private painting events.

  • Clearly and concisely articulate instructions to guests so they can leave with a finished product that they’re proud of, in about 2 hours.

  • Manage the flow of the experience while providing individual support to guests as needed.

  • Set up and break down events as needed.

  • Display a high level of professionalism at all times with a variety of group sizes and types, ensuring clients have an excellent experience with Art From The Heart Studios.

  • Occasionally be scheduled to execute an experience by yourself, where you will be expected to maintain a high level of quality while entertaining up to approximately 12 guests on your own.

  • Take photos and videos of guests having fun.

  • Provide feedback and assistance to students as they work on their paintings, ensuring that everyone is able to complete their artwork successfully

  • Maintain a fun and lively atmosphere in the classroom, engaging with students and encouraging interaction between students

  • Occasionally working as an assistant to another lead instructor/host at your Manager’s discretion.

  • Be available for at least 2 shifts per week, or more. (We are a rapidly growing company, and at this time, flexibility is key)
